Preparing Artwork for Print-On-Demand

Starting a children’s clothing print-on-demand business demands precise preparation of your designs or logos for printing. The quality of your products on platforms like Etsy or Shopify is crucial for success. Better print files and designs result in higher-quality products overall.

To assist you in this process of preparing artwork for print-on-demand, we’ve developed a comprehensive guide to help you prepare artwork files specifically tailored to meet KidsBlanks’ printing standards. Delays in orders can disappoint customers eagerly awaiting their products, potentially leading to frustration. Follow these guidelines to ensure your designs are print-ready and meet our requirements.

Guidelines for KidsBlanks Print Files

1. Print Method:

KidsBlanks employs dye-sublimation printing for our print-on-demand service. This technique infuses an image directly onto the fabric of the garment, creating a permanent print. Unlike traditional screen printing or DTG (Direct-to-Garment), sublimation offers durable results that won’t fade, crack, or peel over time.

2. Accepted Print File Formats:

We recommend saving your print file as a PNG with a transparent background. PNG format preserves transparency, maintains resolution, and is a widely recognized modern file format.

3. Print Area Size:

The maximum print area size varies depending on the product you select. For instance, for a toddler t-shirt (2T – 5T), the standard print area is 5.5 inches wide by 6 inches high, while for a baby onesie (0-3M – 12-18M), it’s 5 inches wide by 5 inches high. 4. Print File Resolution (DPI):

Our advice is to save your design or logo at 300 DPI (dots per inch). Going beyond 300 DPI won’t enhance print quality; it will only increase the file size unnecessarily.

By following these guidelines, you’ll be well-equipped to prepare print-ready artwork that meets our printing standards. This will help streamline the production process and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products to your customers.
