How to prepare your file for Sublimation Printing
What is Sublimation Printing?
Sublimation is a modern printing technique used to transfer vibrant designs onto a wide range of products. This method of printing works by infusing an image directly onto the fabric of the garment, producing a permanent print. Unlike, traditional screen printing or DTG (Direct-to-Garment) sublimation provides a durable product that will not fade, crack or peel over time.
Print File Guidelines
Exclude White from Your Design
A sublimation printer is capable of printing vibrant colors in CMYK and RGB but is not able to print the color white. For this reason, we ask that all files submitted to Wicked Milk exclude this color from your final file.
PNG vs JPG
We recommend saving your print files as PNG. PNG allows you to preserve transparency, maintains resolution, and is a modern, universal format.
Resolution
KidsBlanks by Zoe requires all submitted files to have a resolution of 300dpi (Dots Per Inch). If you print a design under 300 dpi, it will turn out fuzzy and almost unreadable. See example; The first image was created at 72 dpi and then resaved for printing at 300dpi. The second image was created at 300 dpi.
Many customers will use a picture downloaded from a web page in their design. Most images taken from web pages are 72 dpi, and if enlarged will look like the first example image to the left. Use our print file guidelines for best results.
